The Director General of National directorate of Employment (NDE) Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, has said that the essence of the training was geared towards food production and boosting of the agricultural value chain in the state.
Mallam Nuhu gave the explanation in Calabar during a keynote address at the conference room of the Federal Secretariat Cross River State capital over the weekend.
He stated this during the flagged off a five day training of over 50 unemployed youths across youths across the 18 Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He charged the beneficiaries to take the training seriously in order to increase food production in State and Country.
According to him, the essence of the training was geared towards food production and boosting of the agricultural value chain in State.
He expressed delight in the strides taken by his agency to stem the tide of unemployment via this training which aims at providing great insight into Various trending skills of Agriculture.
The Director General who was represented by the State Coordinator Mr Udam Gabriel Ugbashi enjoined the beneficiaries to take the training seriously to justify the huge investment of the Federal Government in the exercise.
While delivering lectures on the impact of Agricultural intervention Policies in Nigeria the Head of Rural Employment promotions department, NDE headquarters Abuja Mr Duke EDEM Otu stated that the Agricultural intervention policies in Nigeria can be used as key drivers of growth and development as well as improving the improving the incomes of the poor through employment generation.
The Head of Department who was represented by Mrs Ann lta, concluded barring some setbacks, Agricultural interventions in Nigeria have made positive impact on the lives of the average Nigerian.
