Brotherhood of the Cross and Star(BCS), has advised the United Nations to pay attention on issues that would promote peaceful and hate-free World during the celebration of the International Peace Day on 21 September 2021.
BCS is a spiritual Organisation with International Headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State.
A statement by its World Peace Committee headed by Justice Archibong Archibong of the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary, the Organisation advised the world body to address effects of hate speech, wars and violence directed at racial minorities.
The statement signed by Justice Osai Ahiakwo on behalf of the committee stressed that many countries were presently enmeshed in wars, strifes and other forms of civil unrest.
The Committee called on the UN to use the day to emphasise on need for peace to realize the source of peace, adding that, “as an organisation, it will consolidate on their global networks to mediate in war-torn communities and countries too live in peace and forgiveness”.
“This is intended without recourse to the divine source of attaining peaceful co-existence of the entire human race. “It is for the above reason we are poised at ensuring that the message of peace and love is emphasised by all”.
“Achieving global peace is not only linked to the absence of crises but all should recognise that the Give of Peace who is Good is alive.”
Through its joint committee of the BCS Peace Board, Security and Legal Departments they have invited the general public to join them to celebrate the day and proclaim the Giver of Peace as a way of ending needless wars and hate.
