The governorship candidate of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Cross River, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has redeemed a pledge of a brand new Hisense Smart Television to the Nigeria Union of Journalists,(NUJ) in the state.
The donation was captured in a brief ceremony at Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre at State Housing Estate, Calabar.
The APC flag bearer who was represented by Head of his Media team, Barr Ekpenyong Akiba stated that the gift remains a confirmation of his respect for members of the fourth Estate of the realm that stand in defence of truth for the furtherance of democracy.
He maintained that the gift is in fulfilment of the promise he made to Journalists during his recent media briefing.
Earlier, the State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Gill Nsa, thanked the candidate on behalf of the Union for matching action with words.
Nsa while extolling his virtues, described Otu’s gift to the Union as a timely package from a true friend of the media especially as it came at a time the Union needed it most.
