Fees days to the February 25th Presidential election, kidnapping and other forms of insecurity have resurfaced in Cross River State.
Just recently, a serving Commissioner For Women Affairs in Cross River State, Hon. Gertrude Njar, was reportedly kidnapped by unknown person.
Eye witness account reports that she was whisked away at Mbukpa area in Calabar South Local Government of the State at about 9:25 am on 1 February 2023.
However, the incident was immediately reported to security operatives whom we gathered swung into action and discovered her shoes by the Creeks in Calabar South.
In a related incident, Mr. Kenneth Abang from Boki LGA was also been kidnapped few days ago alongside his relative, Eunice around 4 pm along the Biase-Calabar highway.
They were traveling to Boki local government area in preparation for his late father’s burial scheduled for February 3rd and 4th in Okundi community.As at the time of filling this story the kidnapped persons were still not rescued by security personnel.
