Cross River State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Dane Osim Asu, has scored Senator Ben Ayade’s Administration high in terms of road construction across the state.
He made the remarks while speaking at the Ministerial press briefing organized by Ministry of Information and Orientation to review the activities of his Ministry.
Engr.Asu rated governor Ben Ayade high in the areas of roads infrastructure and public procurement saying the accomplishments recorded in the last seven and half years is unprecedented and had contributed to the economic growth of the state.
Ayade’s administration, he noted had over the years embarked on major and minor road construction, rehabilitation and intervention projects across the State.
These projects include Spaghetti Flyover, Super and Mini Highways, dualisation of the Tinapa-Odukpani highway, Boki-East-West road, amongst others.
These projects he said, are at various stages of completion.
He assured that no road project would be left uncompleted by this administration as it is determined to complete and commission all on going projects before handing over the come May 29, 2023.
According to him, despite the challenges that come with road projects such as paucity of funds, Ayade has been able to attract funding through his intellectual money mantra, and recently, the N18.6bn purse reimbursement from the Federal government.
He said this administration can confidently boast of over 500km road projects since inception.
Giving explanation on failed interventions projects along Yellow Duke/Target culverts in Calabar South, he explained that the culverts have hit infrastructural failure, adding that government will commence work to fix it soonest.
