The infaticable and hard working Special Adviser to the governor on Non-indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, has lauded His Excellency Sen Apostle Bassey Otu for the huge success recorded in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Carnival Calabar 2025 edition.
He made the remarks while expressing his mind over the large crowd and personalities that attended the event, indicating that it was a huge success as compared to other years.
While commending the entire organization, he said the event was well packaged as there were no causalities recorded during the 20th anniversary edition.
Most especially, Maduekwe commended the governor Otu’s led administration for the pains it took to ensure that there was adequate security during the celebration.
This year’s celebration, he noted attracted governors, Senators, government functionaries within and outside the state. It also attracted Diplomats from other countries as well as the people in diaspora too.
He commended the governor Sen. Prince Bassey Otu for working assiduously to maintain the “season of Sweetness” across the state by successfully sustaining the annual Carnival Calabar.

Maduekwe assured that the Non-indigenes and other ethnic nationality in Cross River state would continue to support the administration by being law abiding.
He lauded the developmental and people oriented programs scattered across the 18 local government areas of the state as well the conducive business environment offered to would be investors.
“By so doing, I want to assure you of our unalloyed support for second term in office to enable you continue and complete all your numerous projects across the state”.
He used the opportunity to thank the Non-indigenes for coming out to participate in the events lined up for the celebration especially the Cultural carnival.
“This year’s Carnival Calabar recorded the highest number of crowd in the history of the event, he added”.
