Odukpani Leadership Academy Embarks On COVID-19 Campaign


The Odukpani Leadership Academy, a non governmental organization in Cross River State has joined several organisations in the campaign  Covid-19 awareness.

The exercise took the team  to in Odukpani Local government area.

Speaking to the people,  the team leader and Chairman, Comrade, Kingsley lta Ikpeme, said the awareness  is to compliment the efforts of the Federal and State governments. 

He appealled  to  corporate organizations, well meaning individuals and other organizations operating in the state to support the government in the fight against this global pandemic by contributing their quota in ensuring that Cross River State  remains Covid-19 free State and indeed the People’s Paradise.

lkpeme, opined that more awareness needs to be carried out in the State, calling for the inclusion of Traditional Rulers, Town Cryers, Religious leaders and opinion leaders in the campaign.

He commended the State Government for working tirelessly,  as staye remains Covid-19 free being a model to other States.

The chairman hailed the governor Sir Ben Ayade for the strict boder closures in the State and called on the citizens to adhere to all government directives and guidelines for the good of all.

Ikpeme reiterated that Odukpani is the gate way to Calabar the State capital, which boders two sister States of Akwa lbom and Abia which needed adequate attention during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and decried  the level of under development of the LGA.

The Chairman also said that Odukpani Leadership Academy is an umbrella body of Past Student’s and Youth leaders of Odukpani extraction home and in diaspora, who came together to contribute to the growth and development of their LGA.

The group among other things has its  aims and objectives to buildLeadership skills among Odukpani Youths, engage in Educational Support initiatives by organising Youth Leadership Program’s and training in different areas, eg entrepreneurial skills and Community Development.

Highlight of the awareness campaign include, talk on Covid-19, Distribution of Odukpani Leadership Academy Customise Hand Sanitizers, Instant hand washing, Demonstration on how to properly use the nose masks, Instant used of alcoholic based sanitizers andmaintaining of social distancing.
