Bakassi Local Government Council of Cross River state, has set up an Audit Committee to verify its workforce with the view of weeding ghost workers.
A statement signed by the Vice Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Council and the Chairman of the committee , Hon Chief Mrs Lawrencia E. Ita, JP explains that a screening exercise to ensure the status of all workers of the council will commence on Monday, June 27 , 2022 and end on Wednesday, June 29.
According to the release, staff of Bakassi Local Government Council and those of the Local Government Service whose pay point is in the Bakassi Local Government as well as teachers In primary schools are invited to an internal audit exercise from Monday, June 27 to Wednesday, June 27at the Calabar Municipal Hall from 9am each day.
They are required to appear in person with their credentials both original and photocopies in file jackets , two passport photographs and any 2022 pay slip
The schedule for the exercise according to the Chairman of the committee ,states that Monday is for departments in the council, Tuesday PHCDA staff while Wednesday is slated for SUBEB staff.
The statement warns that failure to attend the exercise will render absentees as ghost workers.
