The Mayor of Calabar Municipality RT. Hon. Apostle James Anam has promised to continue to work for the development of Calabar Municipality.
He made the declaration during an award of Honour presented to him by Calabar Municipality Pacesetters.
Rt. Hon. Anam disclosed that what people are seeing now is a tip of the iceberg promising that he will continue the transformation of the council area.
He reiterated that the rights of Cross River State will definitely be given back in no distant time promising to do more for the upliftment of the area.
He promised not to let them down expressing hope that all his developmental achievements will stand the test of time.
The Chapter Chairman of the All Progressive Party (A.P.C.) in Calabar Municipality Chief Emmanuel Mbora expressed delight with the developmental strides of the Mayor of Calabar Municipality Rt. Hon. Apostle James Anam assuring hope that he will continue to steer the ship and give more value to the Municipal Council.
The Director-General of Calabar Municipality Pacesetters, Chief Bassey Effiom revealed that the political Organization came to thank the Mayor of Calabar Municipality for the magnificent achievements he has recorded so far adding that the organization’s ideology is “Progress and growth in Calabar Municipality” expressing optimism that he will continue to do more for the development and upliftment of it’s citizens.
The Supervisor for the Information and Orientation, Calabar Municipality, Chief Antigha Ambo enumerated the achievements and successes of the Mayor of Calabar Municipality for close to a year.
These include – modernization of Ika Ika Oqua and Ikot Ishie market, Rehabilitation of Roads in the Council, Rehabilitation of Primary Healthcare Centres, Construction of Solar and Electrical borehole, Registration of more than five hundred students for the Just concluded JAMB Examination, Introduction of automated system of revenue mobilization to improvement of the I G.R. in Calabar Municipality, stoppage of outrageous taxation in markets, building of new political blocks for all political appointees and lots more numerous to mention.
In another development, the member representing Calabar municipality in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Stanley Nsemmo unanimously raised the motion of vote of confidence that they mayor of Calabar municipality, Rt. Hon.Apostle James Anam should be given the support and accolades to continue the developmental strides of Calabar Municipality while Rt. Hon, Efa Esua seconded the motion.
High points of the event featured presentation of Award of Outstanding Leadership role and developmental strides to the Mayor of Calabar Municipality, Rt. Hon. Apostle James Anam by the Director-general of Calabar Municipality Pacesetters, Chief Bassey Effiom, inauguration of coordinators from the ten political wards of Calabar Municipality by the organization and goodwill messages from All Progressives’ Congress Stakeholders from Calabar Municipality.
