Former Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly and PDP candidate in next week Saturday’s Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency rerun election, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo has praised the State Governor, Sen. Prof. Benedict Ayade over the massive appointment of Ekureku indigenes of Abi Local Government Area.
Gaul, who took to his Tweeter handle @gaullebo to express his gratitude over the appointments declared that the time to liberate the people of Ekureku has come.

In the tweet, the former Abi lawmaker noted that five (5) Special Advisers and thirty-five (35) Board Members all of whom are of Ekureku, vis-a-vis Abi Local Government Area origin made it to the recent appointments made by the Governor and announced yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita.
“My special appreciation to the Digital Governor of CRS Sen Prof Ben Ayade for the appointment of 5 Special Advisers from Abi Local Government and 35 Historic Board Members from Ekureku Community also in Abi Local Government Area” Gaul wrote.
Also in the tweet, the Former Speaker wrote; “It is Liberation Time!”
In a chat with CrossRiverDaily, Gaul said that since the inception of the current democratic dispensation in 1999, this was the first time that Ekureku community should be accommodated in such magnitude, stressing that the development will help strengthen members of PDP in Ekureku.
“This is a good muster point for the revival of the Party [PDP] in Ekureku,” Gaul said.
He further urged the Ekureku PDP members to stay focused pending more consideration by the Governor.
