The Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, Hon Iyadim Amboni Iyadim has handed over the day to day running Council into God’s hands during a prayer session to usher in good governance and God’s blessings
Iyadim made this known during the maiden edition of the monthly prayer exercise with the theme ” At The Fullness Of Time” to usher in Divine blessings and upliftment of the council.
He said the purpose of the assembly, was for the cleansing of the council and the area in general “because holy spirit has taken over”, adding that council staff will enjoy remarkable development and improvement.
He explained that the solemn assembly was the first of its kind in the council which attracted highly calibre of personalities including elected politicians and clergy within and outside the local council area.
He urged staff of the council to eschew all forms of bitterness and hatred but inculcate love, cooperation and team spirit as anything to the contrary will not bear good fruits that will be beneficial to all.
He assured the people that he will leave behind, at the end of his three years tenure, a legacy which no other chairman will meet.
In his address, Leader of the Bakassi Local Government Legislative Council, Hon Pastor Emmanuel Effiong, said it was proper to seek the face of God and His favor as they are poised to make laws that will deliver the desired dividends of democracy to the electorate which is their mandate.
Effiong disclosed that with a cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms ,Bakassi will wear a new look.
The Chief Whip of the council, Hon Effanga Bassey Effiong, appreciated God for the programme ,governor of Cross River State, Sir Ben Ayade, for giving them the opportunity to serve and Iyadim for initiating the first of its kind assembly aimed at moving Bakassi Local Government to a greater height.
Highlights of the solemn assembly included the only Bible Reading from Psalm 126 which was taken by the Vice Chairman, Etieka Mrs Lawrencia Ita, Praises and Worship, Intercessory Prayers and a message by Apostle Etim Duke.
The program was attended by the council leadership, legislators, staff and clergy which was intended to be of benefit of the the council and entire people of Bakassi Local Government Area.
