Come And Invest In Bakassi, Council Chairman Appeals To Investors

Entrepreneurs of medium and small scale businesses have been invited to come and invest in Bakassi local government area of Cross River state.

The call was made by the council Chairman, Hon. Iyadim A.Iyadim, while receiving officials of CBN Agromall led by its Deputy Director, Mr Eleng Okimba, during a courtesy cum business visit in his office.

The Council, he said “will create a conducive environment for medium and small scale businesses to flourish in the area”.

Iyadim noted that as an international border town , the council is determined to ensure that the area becomes a business hub to complement the state government efforts.

According to him, “to achieve its aim, the council will partner agencies and organizations whose focus is on business development so as to reposition the area”.
 “By so doing, projects which were earlier earmarked for the area but taken for no just reason will be brought back, he added”.

He assured the group of the Council’s cooperation to enable people of Bakassi especially farmers, get  agric grants and training in order to better their  lots through better yields 

Earlier ,the Deputy Director, CBN Agromall, Okimba, described  the group as an Agric Service and Management agent for the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN initiated by the federal government and supported by World Bank for intervention to ensure food sufficiency

He explained that  their mission is to gather data from beneficiaries  to be empowered  as well as  assist them  with grants and agric inputs

Okimba said “farmers  must key in  and  receive skills” relevant  to the agric value chain , adding that “they also  intend to embark on a  training program  and seminar for farmers in local government areas in order to avail themselves of modern technique in different aspects of agriculture”.
