Cross River State Chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has denied rumours making round that it had defected  to the All Progressives’ Congress (APC).

It made its position known in a joint statement in Calabar signed by the State Chairman,  Ogar Osim and  Secretary  Asuquo Etim respectfully

.
The statement said “the attention of the leadership of Labour Party in Cross River State led by Ambassador Ogar Osim as Chairman and Asuquo Etim as State Secretary has been drawn to publications claiming tha tthe State Chairman and members of his executive have decamped to the All Progressives’  Congress (APC).”.

This fake allegations from one Maurice Ekeng who claims to be Chairman of Labour Party is laughable, and unfortunate for an old man who parades himself as an elder of the church

..Ekeng is an impostor who was never made a State Chairman at any Congress”.

“We challenge him to publish the names of his executive, pictures taken in 2021 extra-ordinary NEC meeting in Benin City where the National Chairman, Julius Abureand the Secretary, Farouk Ibrahim were elected, as well as that of Home Land Hotel Calabar where the National Leadership represented by the Vice Chairman South South,Prince Reuben Nuka inaugurated the current State Caretaker Committee of Labur Party”

“It therefore warned him to desist from further parading himself as chairman or giving out fake information”

Rather, the statement    said Labour Party and its leadership are completely intact with its teeming members across the 18 local government area of Cross River State”
