The executive chairman of Akpabuyo local government Hon Emmanuel Offiong Bassey has raised alarm over plans by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to cause trouble during Saturdays By-election in Akpabuyo.
He raised the issue in a press statement in Calabar yesterday. According to him, reports has it that “PDP is planning to sponsor troubles in the area.”
“He declared “It has come to our notice that the people’s Democratic party in the state are planing to cause problems in tomorrow’s bye election in Akpabuyo using machineries who are planning to enter through the creeks of the local government”
The executive chairman of Akpabuyo local government has ordered that no vehicular movements and motorcycles will be allowed through out the period of the election except those on election duties
He advised that every voter should be confided within his or her pulling unit through out the period of the exercise to avoid any embarrassment
Consequently, the chairman warned that anyone found violating the order will be arrested and prosecuted according to the laws by the relevant authority
To this end, he urged residents of Akpabuyo to be guided and work within the ambient of the law as no body who violate the law would be spared no matter that person’s position in the society
The chairman advice the youths of the area not to allow them selves to be used for thuggery by any body.
