LG Election: CROSIEC extends time table by one week ….Election to hold November 2, 2024

Following appeal  made by stakeholders and the Inter party advisory council (IPAC), concerning the time table as well as fees for nomination Forms, Cross River state Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) has extended the election by one week.

This was contained in a resolution arising from the appeal by IPAC to review the cost of Nomination Fee for chairmanship and councilorship and extension of date of election.

The chairman of CROSIEC Ekong Edet Boco, announced the reduction of November fee from #5 million to #1 million Naira for chairmanship and #1 million Naira to #200 thousand Naira for councilorship.

This decision is in line with the appeal made by IPAC to the state governor Senator Bassey Otu.

Also, in a bid to ensure a fair and credible electoral process, the Commission graciously extended the election by one week, he added.

Therefore, he said, “the proposed local government council election in the state will hold on Saturday 2nd, November 2024, while the campaign will end on Friday 1st, 2024”.

Boco therefore”enjoined IPAC and other stakeholders to note the above changes and act accordingly”.

Activities commences from 25th September, 2024 till November 1, 2024 while comes up on Saturday 2nd, 2025.
