With an impressive 38 years of classroom and lecture hall experience at the University of Calabar (UNICAL) and over 20 years of post-professorial practice, Professor Offiong E. Offiong possesses the essential expertise required for the role of Vice Chancellor.
As a Professor of Coordination Chemistry, Professor Offiong has risen through the ranks from Graduate Assistant to the pinnacle of academia, holding several administrative positions that have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the institution’s dynamics. His extensive experience has not only exposed him to the challenges facing UNICAL but has also enabled him to devise actionable solutions.
Having served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at different times, Professor Offiong has demonstrated his commitment to the academic community and its welfare. His deep-rooted connection to the institution is evident in his assertion: “I am brewed and bottled in UNICAL.” This statement reflects his longstanding dedication to the university and its stakeholders.
At this critical juncture, UNICAL requires a leader with the right credentials and capacity to navigate its complexities. The clear answer is Professor Offiong E. Offiong. He embodies the vision and solutions that UNICAL needs to thrive.
