Wife of Cross River Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Itam Otu, has described the graduation ceremony of youth entrepreneurs of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Calabar as a celebration of vision, hard work and determination.
The First Lady, Dr. Eyoanwan, made the assertion during the grand finale of the Free Skills Acquisition Programme organise by the Youth Church of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Calabar, Cross River Capital.
Represented by Wife of the Chief Staff to the Governor, Dr Virgnia Ironbar, the First lady stated that by investing in skills, they not only better their lives but securing a future for themselves as youths.
Eyoanwan who congratulated the graduands for the feat, unveiled that it gladdens her heart to see faith based organisations take a lead in practical empowerment to compliment the ‘People’s First’ agenda of the present administration in the state, remarking that, they have been equipped with tools to better their lives and that of their families.
The first lady maintained that the training they have acquired is more than just a means of earning a living but a call to creativity, responsibility and service to the society.
Eyoanwan who has continued to advance the course of social and economic empowerment for youths in the state presented starter packages for all the graduating entrepreneurs of the 2025 edition of the Youth programme.
Earlier the Youth Regional Overseer and Programme Coordinator, Pastor Obok James Ogede presented a total of Five Hundred and thirty one graduands of the programme in various vocations also presented a special gift to the First Lady, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.
Other dignitaries awarded with gifts from the Church include Dr Virginia Ironbar.
The well attended event also featured wife of Speaker of Cross River state House of Assembly Mrs Nelly Ayambem and wives of the Chairmen of Odukpani and Akpabuyo Local Government Areas respectively among other dignitaries.
Highlights of the occasion were special prayers for the state as well as presentation of starter parks to beneficiaries who expressed their appreciation for the First Lady in their separate interviews.
