The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River state on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, has called on all stakeholders amongst the non indigenes states residing in the state to do everything possible to mobilize their people to key into the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration Exercise (CVR) so as to be relevant during the forthcoming general election in the country.
He charged them to take advantage of the exercise down to their homes, place of work, worship centers, schools, meeting places and the markets.
Maduekwe made appeal during the Calabar South Stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday the 24th August by 4.00 pm.
He advised them to encourage our children and the people in our neighborhood that are up to eighteen years and above to participate in the on going exercise.
Also, he said, “you are to reach out to those our people that have just been transferred from other areas to Calabar that they can transfer their voters card to their present location.
He reminded the stakeholders that “the exercise will last for few days.Go and register and obtain a Voters card and the time is now”.
“Most importantly, let us fully mobilize our non Indigenes families to participate in this exercise because of its importance”.
He expressed confidence that our Hausa/Fulani brothers, our Akwa Ibom people, our Yoruba friends, our Middle Belt Forum brothers, our Igbo Community and our other Niger Delta groups would graciously respond to this clarion call.
In attendance at the stakeholders’ meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. (Chief) Dr. Emmanuel Ironbar, Executive Chairman, Hon Pastor Patrick Archibong, APC Chapter Chairman Pastor Otu Edet Marshall, APC State Secretary, Pst. Patrick Asikpo (Petido), House of Assembly Members, other political, traditional and religious leaders.
