SA to the Governor Applauds President General Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo for giving out palliatives to people

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, has applauded the Group Chairman of A C Peterson and the President General of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Cross River State Chapter, High Chief Hon. Ambrose Chukwuemeka Egwuonwu and family for sharing over 1,500 bags of rice to the residents of Calabar South and Municipality in the spirit of Christmas as palliatives.

He made the remarks during the distribution of over 1,500 (10kg) bags of rice to both indigenes and Non Indigenes of Calabar South and Municipality within the state capital.

According to him, the exercise was witnessed by the Wards, local government and non indigenous ethnic nationality leaders in a well organized manner.

Maduekwe described the gesture as quite unprecedented and urged the people to partner with the Government of Cross River State to alleviate hunger and poverty in the land.

Mainwhile, His Excellency and Her Excellency are doing so much trying to spread Sweetness, happiness and joy like never before across the length and breath of the state.

The SA advised that “In Season like Christmas, let’s imbibe the spirit of giving and emulate the virtues of spreading love as being demonstrated by the first family and copied by High Chief Hon Ambrose Chukwuemeka Egwuonwu and family too.”

He enjoined those lucky ones who got 10kg bag of rice to be generous enough to share a little with their neighbors who cannot afford a grain this season thereby tapping from the Season of Sweetness with the spirit of Christmas as God blesses the hand that giveth.

He encouraged citizens to join the Government in the fight against poverty and hunger. We can not leave everything for the Government, let’s imbibe the culture of assisting one another, most especially the less privilege.

Currently, His Excellency is doing a lot in rebuilding infrastructures, Agricultural revolution, improvement on security, creating enabling environment for commerce and industry, repossession of Tinapa, reactivation of Cali air, renovation of Obudu Mountain Resort with other Tourist locations and commencement of the Deep Seaport, he noted.

In the same manner, Her Excellency is also tirelessly doing a whole lot in empowerment of men and women, Physically Challenged, Youths, Feeding of school children and medical outreach amongst others during this season.

The Special Adviser continued, “High Chief Egwuonwu have demonstrated that people can also assist government to alleviate hunger by boldly reaching out to the less privilege in our society by way of sharing joy with them.

Therefore, he graciously thanked them for the massive show of love which is unprecedented as the recipients testified.
