The Chairman of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM), Chief Otu Okor, has been inducted as a Doctoral Fellow of the Institute of Management and Advanced Leadership Excellence (IMALE).
The induction ceremony took place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where professionals and distinguished personalities from various sectors gathered to celebrate excellence in leadership, management and professional development.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Okor described the recognition as both humbling and a call to greater service. He expressed appreciation to the institute for finding him worthy of the fellowship.
He noted that the recognition reflects the impact of dedication, vision and the support he has received from his family, Cross Riverians in the diaspora and the people of Cross River State.
According to him, the honour would further inspire him to deepen his commitment to leadership development and service to society.
Okor dedicated the fellowship to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, whom he described as an inspiring leader.
He reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the advancement of leadership excellence and development in line with the governor’s vision for the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Registrar of the Institute of Management and Advanced Leadership Excellence, Abubakar Sadeeq Yusuf, said the institute is committed to grooming leaders capable of responding to the demands of a rapidly evolving world.
Yusuf explained that the institute pursues this mandate through professional programmes, leadership development initiatives, research engagement and international collaborations.
He said the goal of the institute is to create an environment where knowledge meets practice and where professionals can thrive and excel in their chosen fields.
The registrar further noted that the induction ceremony reflects the institute’s growing credibility within the professional community.
He urged the newly inducted fellows to uphold the institute’s values of character, competence and ethical leadership.
Yusuf also encouraged the inductees to serve as ambassadors of excellence in their respective professions and areas of influence.
The event featured the formal induction of several professionals who were recognised for their contributions to leadership, management and professional development.
