No fewer than 3,000 Christian faithful are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Christ Gospel Church of Nigeria scheduled for the second week of April 2026 in Delta State.
The event will hold at Glory Land Hall, Orerokpe, and is anticipated to attract prominent church leaders, government officials, and other dignitaries from across the country.
The National President of the church, Rev. Dr. Abraham Ohwotuemuho, disclosed this during a telephone interview on Sunday, noting that preparations have been concluded for what he described as a landmark event in the history of the church.
Among top clerics expected at the ceremony is the National Vice President, South-South of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Archbishop Emmah Gospel Isong, alongside other religious leaders, captains of industry, and key stakeholders.
The ceremony will also feature former President of PFN, His Eminence Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, who will serve as the inauguration officer, while the Chairman of PFN, Delta State Chapter, Bishop Abos Willie, is also expected to attend.
Other dignitaries billed for the event include the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; the member representing Okpe Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief James Augoye; and the Chairman of Okpe Local Government Area, Chief Isaiah Esiovwa..
Speaking on preparations, the Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, Rev. Dr. Ime Johnson (JP), said the church is set to host a colourful and successful event, expressing appreciation to church leaders for their continued support.
He commended what he described as the unwavering commitment of church leaders in sustaining the Christian faith despite prevailing security challenges in the country.
Johnson also called on Christians to remain steadfast in prayer for the nation, urging them to trust in divine intervention in addressing the country’s challenges.
The inauguration is expected to bring together worshippers and stakeholders from various parts of Nigeria in a celebration of faith and unity.
