Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women in Ekiti State to mobilise and deliver 95 per cent of their votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general elections.
The appeal came as, Dr Betta Edu, and other members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Women Mobilisation Directorate directorate commenced grassroots mobilisation ahead of the party’s rally in Ado-Ekiti, combining market engagements, hospital visits and empowerment initiatives to strengthen support for the President’s re-election bid.
Before the rally, the women visited markets to engage traders, reached out to patients in two hospitals, and supported women in small-scale businesses. They also mobilised stakeholders and grassroots supporters, taking the Renewed Hope message to communities and encouraging women to participate actively in the electoral process.
The activities formed part of the directorate’s strategy to deepen grassroots engagement, strengthen women’s participation in politics, and translate support for the APC into votes in the 2027 elections.

The rally, held on Thursday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, attracted Vice-President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Director-General of the APC PCC, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, party leaders, and thousands of supporters.
Speaking at the gathering, Edu urged Ekiti women to deliver 95 per cent of their votes for Tinubu and Shettima, as well as other APC candidates in the state.
She commended Governor Oyebanji for his developmental efforts in Ekiti, expressing confidence that his achievements would strengthen the party’s electoral fortunes in 2027.
Edu also urged women to sustain grassroots mobilisation and ensure that the support being built across markets, communities, and wards translated into votes during the elections.

Other speakers at the rally called on APC members and supporters to remain united and committed to the party’s electoral objectives.
The First Lady’s appeal underscores the strategic role of women in the APC’s nationwide mobilisation campaign, with the Women Mobilisation Directorate expected to sustain ward-to-ward and community engagements ahead of 2027 general elections.
