Officials of the Independent Corruption Practices & Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have arrived Calabar, Cross Riverto investigate constituency projects worth over N1.9 billion awarded to the Senator and House of Representatives members in the central senatorial district of the state from 2016 to 2018.
Sources close to the ICPC office told Patriot News that upon arrival, they drove straight to Yakurr local government area where the anti-craft agency uncovered 5,000 gallon solar-powered mini-water scheme reportedly executed in Ijiman, Ijom, Ikpakapit, and Ekori areas by former Senator John Owan Enoh.
Also in Abi local government area, the ICPC team under the constituency executive tracking group phase 2 uncovered the same number of projects.
However, there are several uncovered projects mainly “Solar Powered mini-water scheme” in Orimekpang, Abo Mkpang, Nsarop, Agba in Osokom Ivula-1 and Ivula-2 as well as Katchuan Irruan all in Boki local government area.
The team also discovered about 30 numbers of 6,000 litres Solar Powered borehole sites in Obubra local government area where only six were functional while the rest were already vandalized.
Sources close to ICPC disclosed that there are 76 other projects across the senatorial district for inspection by the team before the leave the state.
