The first quarter General Assembly of Igbo Community in Calabar was held at Ideato Hall with delegates from the five Igbo states.
Also in attendance were the Eze Igbo Cross River State, Nna Ndi Igbo in Council, the Okenwa Ndi-Igbo, Nze na Ozo ,”red cap” chiefs and the Executive of Igbo Community.
In his remarks, the Eze Igbo, His Royal Highness, Eze Sir Emmanuel A Ezenwenyi (KSM) sued for the unity and peace among the Igbos in Cross River state.
He appreciated the government and the good people of Cross River state for the inclusiveness, peace and security that the citizens are enjoying under the leadership of His Excellency Apostle Senator Bassey Otu’s administration.
Sir Ezenwenyi commended the unprecedented infrastructural development that is ongoing across the 18 local government areas, coupled with the advancement of the ‘People’s First’ mantra.
He said “the Igbos and the Non Indigenes have not had it so good in Cross River state.
He called on everyone to strengthen the collaboration with the government so as to take the state to the desired destination.
The “Onowu” Sir Livinus E. Ihezie (KSM) also appealed to Igbos to give their support to Senator Bassey Otu’s administration as he recognized one of our sons as his Special Adviser.
He lauded the leadership of the Igbo community for calling the first quarter General Assembly.
Earlier, the President General, Barr Kingsley Kalu expressed his satisfaction with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe for the success recorded in the area of cordial relationship with the host Community and other non indigenous ethnic nationalities across the state.
He prayed God to continue to give him the wisdom to lead aright.
