The Central Planning Committee members of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Cross River state chapter recently paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Ironbar in his office to officially initimate him of the forthcoming thanksgiving/inauguration of the newly elected leadership of the chapter.
Speaking, CPC Chairman, Okenwa High Chief Desmond Oko,Informed him of the election of Hon.Chief (Sir) Ambrose Chukwuemeka Egwuonwu’s led executive and the proposed thanksgiving and Inauguration scheduled for Sunday 19th October at St Bernard Catholic Church, Marian Hill, Calabar.
According to the CPC chairman, the inauguration and reception would be at Management Development Institute (MDI) Field, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar and used the occasion to extend official invitation to the Chief of Staff.
Responding, the Chief of Staff ,Chief Dr Emmanuel Ironbar congratulated the newly elected Leadership and praised the unity, support and contribution of the Igbos in the State.
He reassured the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo of government readiness to continue with the provisions of enabling environment for the business to thrive.
Ironbar wished the new team a fruitful and eventful tenure that will bring unity, peace and development not only to the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo but Cross River State and Nigeria at large.
He also promised that the Government will be there to welcome the visitors from far and near who will be attending the occasion.
Earlier, in his own remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe congratulated the new Leadership and commended their efforts in the enlightenment and mobilization of Ndi-Igbo in the State.
He advised them to take advantage of the (INEC) Continuous Voters Registration Exercise (CVR), by going to update their voters card or to get a new card and wished them peaceful reign.
