As local government administrations in Cross River state are struggling with inadequate funding as the state governor has not allowed them full access to the monthly allocation, Yala local government chairman, Hon. Fabian Odey Ogbeche has announced 41 appointments into the council.
So far this the highest number of political appointees in the 18 local government area of the state thereby being the first to set a record amongst his peers.
In two separate appointment memos, the council boss first announced a batch of twenty eight (28) appointees and within 24hours, announced another batch of thirteen (13) appointees; bringing the total number of appointees for Yala to forty one (41) as against 28 his colleagues in other councils have announced.
Calabar municipality councils follows with 32 appointments.
The last three (3) days have seen almost all council chairmen in state announcing names of their appointees except for a few five (5) who are yet to make the appointees public.
The councils are Ogoja, Boki, Yakurr, Biase and Akamkpa respectively.
The question is will any other council beat Yala council area in political appointments.
