The Chairman of Bakassi local government area of Cross River state, Hon Iyadim Amboni Iyadim, has maintained that the council will continue to place high premium to health care sector as its importance can not be over-emphasized
He made the disclosure while speaking at the end of the 13th Bakassi Local Government Executive Council meeting while handing over the key of an ambulance allocated to the Primary Health Care Program in the area to the council’s Director Of Works, Eng Ekpo Bassey Edet.
Iyadim said it was due to the high regards the council places on health sector because of its vital role on the well being of the people and the economy that the council ensured the ambulance is put to proper use.
He noted that while emphasis is placed on renovating and equipping health centre facilities damaged during the ENDSARS riots, existing ones will be upgraded to meet the health requirements of the people
The council chairman therefore enjoined those entrusted with the use of the ambulance to ensure such a responsibility is not abused as much is expected of them in their area of providing high quality health care services in the area.
Conducting members of the executive Council on inspection of the ambulance, explained that work had been done on it to ensure proper use while its air-conditioning component had been fixed for effective services.
The Council’s Director Of Works, Eng Ekpo Bassey Edet,who received the key of the ambulance handed it to the Council’s Transport Officer, Ndabo Effiom Edet Ene, who in turn handed it over to the Director Of Health, Francis Etim
Receiving the key, Etim assured that the ambulance will be used for the intentions which expected of it because of its relevance of ensuring good and prompt health care services.
