Media practitioners in the country have been advised to carry out research while reporting especially as it concerns malaria and tuberculosis and other related diseases.
The advice was made in a media review workshop organised by Breakthrough Action Nigeria (BA-N) for journalists in Cross River state
BA-N, a USAID sponsored NGO had organised a two-day media activity to assess media collaboration towards malaria control and prevention in the country.
Media practitioners who attended the programme were briefed on the on going campaign against malaria control across the country.
Speaking, the Programme Officer, Social Behavior Change, Breakthrough Action BA-N, Nkoyo Umoh, expressed joy over the new partnership with the media in Cross River state towards the eradication of malaria by all stakeholders.
She noted that her organisation has a target to ensure that the media partnership will be sustained through their innovative reportage and sensitisation of the public on the need to embrace the idea of sleeping inside the mosquito treated nets.
She charged the media not to relent in its current campaign to eradicate malaria and other deadly diseases in our society.
Other diseases that came to the fore include tuberculosis and Covid-19 pandemic.
