Ayade’s Achievements, A Blessing To APC And Cross Riverians – Dr. Ofuka

Cross Riverians and especially the All Progressives’ Congress(APC) stands to benefit from the many achievements recorded by the government of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade.

They are capable of attracting more goodwill of Nigerians for the party as well as to the state.

This remark was made in Calabar by the governor’s Special Adviser, Cocoa Development and Control, Dr Oscar Ofuka. while hosting members of the Etung Local Government Chapter Executive Committee of the party who were on a courtesy call on him in Calabar.

He said incidentally, not much of the administration’s successes have been made public.
Ofuka also called on the party leadership in the state to leverage on those achievements in the course of its “political evangelism” programme to win more supporters and members to the party.
Political evangelism is an initiative of the party leadership in the state to reach out to aggrieved members, members of the public and of other parties with a view to wooing them to the APC.
Ofuka observed that the programme can be worthwhile by leveraging on the achievements of the State Governor,Sen.Prof. Ayade. 
He charged the party leadership to map out strategies to reach out to more people outside of the party membership with the  of the APC led Government as one of the easiest and convenient measures to attract the desired goodwill of the public.
Ofuka mentioned that under the present administration,Cross River has witnessed unprecedented achievements in the industrial sector, infrastructural development among others, stating that never in the history of the state has there been a turnaround in the Cocoa economy than now with the Cocoa Revolution Programme,for instance as initiated by Governor Ben Ayade.
He maintained that under the programme, emphasis has been placed on expanding the age long Cocoa Plantations with the massive cultivation of improved species of the crop.t


According to the Special Adviser, also under the initiative,Cocoa Seedlings are being distributed to farmers at no cost from the Government Cocoa Nurseries while more communities are identifying with the development through donation of vast land space for the raising of plantations in parts of the State.
Earlier, Chapter Chairman of the Etung Local Government Chapter of the party,who spoke on behalf of his Executive Committee Members,Mr. Eric Ndifon, said the call was to avail members of the Chapter Committee the opportunity to interact with the Special Adviser,on how best to move the party forward.
The Chairman also said he was particularly impressed with the massive development witnessed in the Cocoa Value Chain in the state especially with the expansion of the existing Cocoa Farms,the establishment of an ultramodern Cocoa Factory as well as the introduction of the Small Holders Scheme which has gone a long way to  improve the living conditions of the people.
He also expressed delight with the Governor Ayade administration’s many achievements especially with the appointment of Dr. Ofuka into the Cocoa Industry and described the Special Adviser as a round peg in a round hole.
The event featured visit to the CRBC Model Cocoa Farm in Calabar.
