NUJ C’River Election: Nation Correspondent Emerges Chairman

The Nation Correspondent in Cross River state, Comrade Nsa Gill has emerged the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) with 76 votes.

He defeated former Secretary of Council, Comrade Okar Ibor of the Cross River state Newspaper Corporation, publishers of Nigerian Chronicle stable who scored 50 votes.

Others are Archibong  Bassey of the Nigeria Television (NTA) Comrade  Solomon Azu the Group News Editor  of the Nigerian Chronicle, Secretary  with 64 votes defeating Judex Okoro of the SUN newspaper who  polled 59 votes.

The Vice Chairman, Florence Kanu, Treasurer , Achiane Adams and Assistant Secretary , Kingsley Agim returned unopposed.

There148 accredited delegates out of which 128 delegates voted with  three void votes.

The Vice  President of NUJ ,  Zone F and Zonal Secretary,  Opaka  Dokubo and John Angese respectively supervised  the election and declared Nsa Gill Chairman.

Speaking, the Chairman of NUJ , Cross River state Council, Comrade Nsa Gill vowed to move the Union forward while assuring members of proper welfare , harmony of the Union and complete transparency.
