The All Progressives’ Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Sen. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has told Cross Riverians at a Town Hall meeting of his plans and strategy to continue to fund infrastructure rebirth and revolution in the country.
He stated this while answering questions at the Town Hall meeting in the state.
According to him, “I am in the presidential race because the development of Nigeria is my only concern and I have the highest degree of honesty over others in the race”.
“Moving Nigeria forward is a task that must be accomplished. I am a progressive. Progressives are the ones to drive Nigeria forward. We will work with a team of visioners, intellectuals and committed ones that can build our country.”
On how he intends to fund infrastructure development promises, he said, we create long term money and face it squarely.”
Said he, “change the fiscal confusion between monetary policy and fiscal policy. Be accountable, block the loopholes. Untangle the bottlenecks; make processing an accelerated processing, answer questions; timely regularization of money and treasury notes amongst others”.
He was flanked by his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, the Director General of the APC presidential Campaign council, Governor Simon Lalong , the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. former Commissioner for Finance in Cross River State and the party Senatorial Candidate for Cross River South district.
The APC presidential candidate practically appealed to the electorates in Cross River State to vote for him and all the candidates of the party.
He expressed knowledge of the rich natural endowment and resources in Cross River State and assured that his administration if voted into office will create wealth.
He particularly mentioned the Waterfront Reserves of Calabar and the rich forest reserves in the central and northern part of the state.
“Cross river water front can make a lot of money for the State. Calabar Water Front can be better than what you have in Miami in USA”, Tinubu said.
The APC leader excited the APC members in Cross River State when he took a personal imitative while making his remarks to intervene in the political friction that existed in the party ranks in the state.
Earlier, he had reconciled Senator John Owan Enoh and Senator Bassey Otu.
He advised him to discontinue the case he has in court against the APC governorship candidate.
Owan-Enoh had dragged Senator Otu and the APC to court over the conduct of the governorship primaries.
Owan-Enoh had vowed to end the matter at the Supreme Court but the intervention of Senator Tinubu may have brought the matter to a close.
Speaking while calling out both Owan-Enoh and Otu during a town hall meeting of the party for the South South zone in Calabar, Tinubu appealed to Owan-Enoh to withdraw the lawsuit against governorship candidate no matter the level of grievances he may have felt.
“I know you may have felt aggrieved and very angry but as far as we remain on earth, disappointments and pains would always come. Please, let this matter end today and here. Withdraw the lawsuit and give peace a chance.We will enter the election as one family because we are not ready to give our opponents any chance, he stated”.
