The Deputy governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey has received the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Zeboh Andrew Jebo, in his office.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy governor expressed his love for the NYSC program and relived his days as CLO when he served at Nguru, Yobe State in year 2000.
He assured the State Coordinator that the new administration in Cross River state will respond to the many needs confronting the scheme in the state, particularly the issues of allowances for Corp members and living conditions at the NYSC camp.

According to him, “the old narrative in which corp members sought redeployment to other states where they had better options had come to and end as the State would do everything within its power to make corp members comfortable in the state.
Earlier, the State Coordinator who was accompanied by key directors and some corp members, expressed gratitude to the state government for the provision of various incentives and a borehole at the NYSC camp.
Highlights of the event which had the Secretary to the State government, Prof Anthony Owan Enoh, included the presentation of handmade gift items including artworks and shoes to the Governor and Deputy Governor.
