The Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Mr Effiom Ekaha has charged management and staff of his Ministry to brace up to hit the ground running towards achieving its set goals by the state government.
The Commissioner gave advice while addressing staff of his Ministry.
“We are determined to take the Ministry to a pedestal of greatness by exploiting all areas that would provide a desicive push towards the actualisation of the Ministry’s mandate”.
He emphatically pointed out that no iota of the ministry would be left fallow as all resources both human and material would be activated for maximal production.
According to the Commissioner, the state governor’s bidding must be followed ardently at all cost to justify his cravings for a positive change in the narratives of the state.
He stated that the scope of the ministry regarding it’s statutory mandate was very broad and therefore needed total commitment, astuteness and willingness by the staff to deliver on government expectations.
Ekaha who is empowered with public service and proprietorship experience assured that he would bring his wide knowledge to bear on the management of the office and called for cooperation from management and staff of the ministry.
He said that though wide consultations were ongoing he required honest and sincere contributions from staff on their professional callings in order to create the needed synergy for success.
He promised an open door policy particularly among the staff adding that he would be fair and firm as laxity, dishonesty, absenteeism and lack of respect for the civil service rules would negate his phycological stance and therefore would not be tolerated.
The Commissioner further informed that the expectations of Governor Bassey Edet Otu towards the productivity of the ministry was too high to demean.
Earlier, the permanent secretaries of the defunct ministries of Petroleum Resources,Solid Minerals and Gas Development Mrs Aleka Theresa Ukpankin and Mr Ikade Emmanuel Ikade promised to effectively mobilize staff to support the dreams of the ministry.
