Bakor New Yam Festival Can Create Wealth, Job Opportunities – Egbede

The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr Patrick Egbede, has said that the famous annual Bakor New Yam celebration if properly harnessed an create wealth and job opportunities for the teeming youths in the community.

Egbede said that a robust attention would be focused on areas that could lift the lives of the rural people out of the prevalent poverty level.

The Commissioner made the remarks while speaking at a meeting with elders, leader and traditional rulers of some communities in Ekajuk

He assured that his ministry would exploit possible ways of injecting business sense in the Bakor project to give it the impetus it deserves.  

Egbede promised to cooperate with organizers in very zealous manner that would propel the Bakor nation to a pedestal of pride and glory.

The meeting which was at the Commissioner’s instance was aimed to ginger his immediate community to take prominent stance in the preparation towards the annual cultural event.

The meeting brought together community leaders, stakeholders, and youth’s  of Ntara 2 community to discuss and deliberate on the preparations for this highly anticipated event. 

Hon Egbede, known for his unwavering commitment to community development and cultural preservation, emphasized the importance of maintaining the rich heritage associated with the Bakor Nation New Yam Festival.

The annual celebration, which is steeped in tradition and cultural significance, is scheduled to take place on the 15th of September, 2023.
