Cross River state government has said that it is prepared to host the best Calabar Carnival this year as it has put everything on ground to receive and welcome the World to participate in the 32 day show.
Also, the security and property of visitors/tourists are guaranteed as the state government and other security personnel are working round the clock to forstall any attempt by souffle the event.
This assurance was made by the combined team led by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Erasmus Ekpang, while briefing journalists on the state government’s preparedness to host the annual celebration at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre, Calabar.
Speaking, he promised that the event will mark as the best Calabar Carnival ever organized over the years.
He said that the event would be sponsored through Private partnership program (PPP). Also, he said, that there shall 24hours security surveillance across the state during and after the fiesta.
The state governor under the leadership of Sen. Prince Bassey Otu is not resting on his oars to rejig and refix Cross River state.
This year’s event will be extended to all the Senatorial Districts of the state so that “our people wherever, they are will be part of the celebration, he added.
Ekpang noted facelifts and decoration of the city is on going.
He said two countries South Africa and Brazil have indicated interest to participate live as well as others
Earlier, the Executive secretary of the Carnival Commission, Austin Cobham, said the state is ever ready to host and entertain the World beginning from December 2 – December 31, 2023.
