The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon Patrick Egbede, has expressed optimism that the existing collaboration between his office and the National Directorate of Employment on job creation would yield bountiful results for the betterment of Cross Riverians.
Egbede made the remark at the Orientation and Flag Off ceremony for the provision of facilities to the beneficiaries of the Agricultural Enhancement Scheme by the National Directorate of Employment at the Federal Secretariat , Calabar.
He described the event as laudable and charged the beneficiaries to be focused and judiciously invest the facilities.
According to him, the Ministry has strategized on evolving avenues on ways to impact the people through loans and grants in line with the state government economic policy.
Presenting cash awards to the beneficiaries, the Cross River State Coordinator of NDE, Mr Gabriel Udam who represented the Director General, NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu said that the state has 48 beneficiaries among the about 700 in 14 states and the FCT where the flag off was taking place simultaneously.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director, Rural Employment Promotion Department, Beatrice Oruoyehu represented by Blessing Owan congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to consider the opportunity as rare and should be treasured.
Earlier, the State Director, National Orientation, Agency, Iborr Otu emphasized that any misuse of the facilities provided by the beneficiaries would be tantamount to self injustice as the purpose for the program would have been defeated.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Moses Odey thanks NDE for the benevolence.
