Development Of The State Economy Is Paramount – Hon. Egbede

The State Government says it is concretizing  strategies to boost  growth in all sectors of the economy. 

The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon Patrick Egbede gave the assurance when he granted audience to a social organisation, Utem Alom-Ishor, Abon Nkum Iborr in his office in Calabar.

Egbede said that the government of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu was fully conscious of the socio-economic needs of the people  and would engage in every plausible means to uplift the economy of the state.

He pointed out that already a number of activities were being put in place by his office to ginger youths into productive ventures through loans and grants.

Egbede stressed that particular attentions were being paid to the agricultural sector which habours majority of youths revealing that the package would involve rehabilitation of rice farms at Bansara and Ibil in Ogoja local government area capable of providing employment opportunities for both direct production and the value chain.

He advised the Association to garner support for the lofty dreams of Governor Otu led  Administration particularly in the areas of economic development.

Earlier the Chairman of the Utem Alom- Ishor, Abon Nkum Iborr, Mr Mark Ashaba, said that the visit was to felicitate Hon Egbede on the appointment as Commissioner and to assure him of unbridled support for the success of the office.

 He emphasized that the joy of the Association and the people of Bakor in general would be the success of the Commissioner and prayed for God’s guidance and protection as  he ventures into the labyrinth of governance.
