Sixty-four (64) years ago, Nigeria got her independence precisely on 1st October, 1960. Ever since that the poor Nigerian masses have not known peace because of the few “cabal” who had sworn an evil oath to perpetually cause the masses to groan in pains.
These untold pains and hardship, as it were, either in the military regime or democratic government have deliberately not changed for good in anyway to favour the masses.
Rather, thousands of Nigerians’ have thrown in the towel or have lost their dear lives resulting from very difficult policies of governments at that particular period or reign of such “inhuman” administration or government.
As we speak, there is no sign of hope or rescue from the hands of the cabal. They have grabbed everything just for themselves and families. No! It is only the Almighty God that will rewrite the ugly handwriting on the wall.
Severally, our elected leaders have failed us over and over again. They had threatened those that dare to make things workout in this country. They have always ganged up against such God-sent messiah’s of our time. The recent gubernatorial election in Edo state is a test case. The ruling party ganged up and frustrated the mandate of the people of Edo state. Oh! what a broad day light robbery against the wishes of Edo people.
For us this is another eight years of pain and bondage for Edo people. The beginning of another journey to a point of no return.
The question is: why do we go for an election, when we will not our votes to be counted for. “Weep not Nigerians”. Our weeping has no meaning, rather it adds to our already agonizing and frustrating situations.
Shall we continue to weep because we have enough tears in our eyes? Must we continue to fold our arms to watch the cabal and their families milk us to death? The time to say ‘No” is now or never. They should be ready to stop their evil mechanization.
This is not time to preach religion. The National Assembly members are our brothers and sisters belonging to the Muslim or Christian sect. What have they done or said concerning the suffering of those they are representing? The answer is absolutely nothing.
We are not mindful to say that “the problem of this nation is the National Assembly members. They have failed their constituents and Nigerians as a whole. For too long, they have deceived us. It is time to say no. Enough is Enough!”
At sixty-four years of independence, what have we achieved? Our leaders have only succeeded in increasing the rate of hardship and pains on Nigerians. The masses are not happy. The youth are boiling. They are frustrated. There is no hope for them as young people. They are fade up.
What story shall we tell our founding fathers that the democracy they fought for, we can no longer manage. Or that we want the Military to come back. “Remember, the worst civilian government is better the good military regime”.
From the Presidency to the state governors, to the legislature and down to the local government, there is no iota of any sign of good thing for the masses as we celebrate the nation’s Independence Anniversary. Yet we call ourselves, the giant of Africa.
If our people are hungry and are dying in their numbers every day, and we have leaders, then where lies our strength.
Therefore, it is our strong belief that until “this ungodly narrative changes, the agitation for good governance would continue”.
We, sincerely offer the following recommendation as a possible solution to the on- going agitation.
That the present government should re-introduce Price Control Board, cut down the price of PMS, implement the national minimum wage, give us good access road and above all sustain power supply in this country, Nigeria.
The masses are tired of weeping and weeping in their own nation filled with milk and honey. Our leaders should know that Nigerians are already tired of their flimsy excuses and ready for action.
The more the delay, the more the increase in their agitation. This country belongs to all of us and must change for better so that our yet unborn generation shall have something to show as Nigerians.
We urge the government to make haste while it is still day time to avert another dimension of “#Endsars” demonstration across the country.
The word of elders are words of wisdom.
