The Ikom-Ogoja & District Society was inaugurated as the 80th District of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) by the Diamond ICAN President, Chief Chizuoke C.S. Alaribe, (FCA).
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Alaribe described the event, “as a significant milestone in ICAN’s growth”.
He reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to advancing the accounting profession across Nigeria.
He commended the efforts of the Calabar & District Society in establishing the new District and acknowledged the leadership of Dr. Mbang Uba Bassey, FCA, and the founding members.
He stressed that the District’s primary goals were to promote accuracy, integrity, and professionalism among members.

The President emphasized the crucial role of Chartered Accountants in today’s World and encouraged the Ikom-Ogoja District to engage in mentorship, CSR initiatives, and capacity-building programs to strengthen the accounting profession in the region.
He assured the new District of the Council’s continued support and urged the Calabar & District Society to provide guidance and mentorship as the District grows.
