The Chairman of Obubra Local government area, Hon Kingsley Arikpo has threatened fire and brimstones on perpetrators of violence and war mongers disrupting the peace of Obubra rural communities.
He issued the warning during series of peace building meetings with chiefs, women leaders and youth of the various communities causing undue tension in the area.
Represented by the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon Leonard Ogwa, the Chairman met with leaders of ten communities that are at the verge of unleashing inter communal disturbances.
They include; the people of Ebura Echara, Enyibichiri, Ofutu and Otutu in Izi Ikwo, Obubra, rocked by a petition alleging sales of parcels of land to some land grabbers of of Ekumenyi, Echara Ikwo in the neighbouring Ebonyi state by a certain Chief of Otutu, in Echara Osopong, Obubra.
The council Chairman also met with chiefs and women of Ovonum and their Ofatura contenders of Adun Kingdom.
Also invited, were the people of Iyamoyong and their Iyamitet Neighbours with a view to mapping out modalities to check renewed hostilities.
It would be recalled that in recent times, the Council Chairman has swiftly intervened in insesant land disputes between Ogurude and Okimbongha, Okpechi and Igo villages in Osopong 1.
Other disputes were between Nkum Akpambe, versus Onyen- Orangha, Ovokwa versus Okorugbana as well as the the renewed hostilities between Ekuri communities of Edondon and Okokori versus the people of Okumurukted.

It is In the light of the foregoing that the Council Chairman, Hon Arikpo, inaugurated a 10-man Committee headed by the Ojukwa of Ababene and having the Special Adviser (SA) to the Chairman on Peace and Security Hon Francis Iyamba as Alternate Chairman.
The committee also has the Secretary of Council, Dr Atan Obeten who doubles as Committee Secretary.
The committee which was charged with specific terms of reference is to also monitor and stop the menace of hostilities in the boundary lines of Ovonum and Ofatura.
The Chairman also set another Committee under the chairmanship of the Leader of Obubra Legislature with a mandate to look into the boundary issues between, Iyamoyong, Ababene and Iyamitet.
The inaugurated Committees also have as automatic members, all the service Commanders of the various security agencies, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Apiapum, Obubra, CSP Njar,
