The Special Adviser to the governor of Cross River State on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, recently held an interactive session with the leadership of different ethnic groups in Akamkpa local government area.
During the meeting, Mazi Maduekwe, who appreciated the existence of the various ethnic groups in the council area, commended them for leaving in harmony with the people over the years.
This cordial relationship is a pulse for the various ethnic groups in the entire state and Akamkpa in general.
Therefore, he encouraged them to continue to support the government of Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, assuring them of government’s plan to provide enough dividends of democracy.
He thanked them for their peaceful dispositions and contributions towards the economic and agricultural growth of Akamkpa local government area.
Maduekwe lauded the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Sir Felix Akposi for the provision of adequate security and an enabling environment for people to live and carry out their businesses.
Earlier, the leadership of the groups, had expressed their happiness with the ongoing transformation in the state.
They remarked that for decades, “we are witnessing tremendous infrastructural transformation across Akamkpa local government area and asked God to continue to shower the Governor and the Executive Chairman with good health and strength to do more”.
They also commented the Executive Chairman, Hon Sir Felix Akposi, for the wonderful work he is doing in Akamkpa local government since assumption of office.
The representatives of the various groups are, Chief/Sir Emmanuel Ezeobi (Igbo) Alhaji Igboke (Hausa), Dr Umoh Ekpo Sam(Akwa Ibom), Mr G Ayinde(Yoruba) and Chief Peter Ejue (Cross River North).
