Christians have been advised to always bear the fruit of Jesus Christ by showing love and sacrifice to others as they celebrate Easter.
His death and resurrection is a great testimony to humanity.
The advise was contained in a message by the Special Adviser to the Cross River state Governor on Non-indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe as Christians all over the world celebrate Easter.
He urged Christians to have a deep reflection on what Easter represents in order to reap from its lessons.
Maduekwe recalled that “the death of Christ represents love and sacrifice and His resurrection, hope and triumph of light over darkness”.
“As Christians, we must strive to imbibe the exemplary life of love, selflessness, sacrifice, and forgiveness, which Christ demonstrated in His death, burial, and resurrection for the redemption of mankind”.
According to him, “Easter is both significant and sobering in the sense that it reminds us of all of the triumphs of good over evil, light over darkness, and love and compassion over hate”.
“His death and resurrection brought a refreshing dawn for humanity and redefined the virtues of selflessness, love, sacrifice and forgiveness,”.
He sued for peace, love and unity among residents of Cross River at all times.
Also, he appealed to both indigenes and non indigenes to be steadfast in their support for Governor Bassey Otu’s administration in the ongoing transformation across the 18 local government areas.
“Gov Otu’s administration has done exceedingly well and as such needs to be encouraged to do more in the remaining tenure and even beyond”.
He appealed to all to remain calm and supportive to this administration as it is geared to unfold more transformational plans ahead of 2027.
