The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Non Indigenes Affairs Mazi Okey Maduekwe, has congratulated the newly elected President of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Cross River State High Chief Sir Chukwuemeka Ambrose Egwuonwu and his executives.
He made the remarks while speaking shortly after the election that saw High Chief Sir. Chukwuemeka A. Egwuonwu emerged as President, Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Cross River state.
Maduekwe who expressed joy for the successful conduct of the election, sued for peace and unity among the Igbos residing Cross River state.
Today’s election is a testament that the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo is poised to charting a new direction for all the Igbos irrespective of your state of origin.
He advised the new leadership to ensure that everyone is carried along in the process, because leadership is “a selfless service to the people”.
Also, he commended the fatherly advise and role played by His Royal Highness, Eze Igbo Cross River state, Eze Sir. Emmanuel A. Ezenwenyi which resulted to the conduct of the election.
Maduekwe also lauded the delegation of the leadership of Igbo communities from the 18 local government areas of the state led by the representative of Eze Igbo Cross River state, traditional Prime Minister, Onowu Chief Sir Livinus Ihezie.
The Special Adviser further sued for peace and unity among the Igbos residing in the state, adding that the state government is not unmindful of your enormous contributions towards the state’s economy.
He recalled that the ‘People’s First’ Government of Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu had under two years of purposeful leadership demonstrated love and friendship to the Non Indigenes in the State.
“His Excellency has accomplished a lot in the areas of Security, Inclusivity, Agriculture, Education , Health, Welfare, Empowerment and Infrastructural transformation, he added”.
He therefore called on the new leadership to reciprocate the gestures by supporting and partnering with the Cross River state Government at all times so as to sustain the symbolic cordial relationship that had existed long before now.
The free and fair election took place at the Conference Hall of Hyglow Hotel Ikom.
