The Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon Edodi Eyong Edodi has advised public office holders in the state to uphold at all times, the virtues of ownership and maintenance culture in the course of rendering service to humanity.
The Chairman gave the charge in reaction to absence of operational vehiclces in all sectors when the new councils came on board barely one year ago.
In a chat with our reporter in his office shortly after a brief ceremony that marked his one year in office, Hon Eyong narrated his ordeal of inheriting one old Ford pickup van that could not be listed for boarding as an unserviceable item by previous administrations due to its bad state that made it unacceptable to biders.
“I took ownership of the vandalised property of our council and brough it back to taste by replacing all the doors and engine parts to bring it alive. Today. the refurbished pick up van earmarked for the healthcare sector as an operational vehicle, is listed amongst other projects I executed in one year.” the Chairman stated
Hon Edodi reiterated his commitment to serve the people of Biase with passion, affirming that Biase under his administration would in the next one year experience tremendous developmental strides that would make the council area be at par with other councils in the state.
The Chairman used the occasion to thank the Governor, Apostle, Prince Bassey Otu for giving him the opportunity to serve his people, covenanting to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him.
