It is not always palatable for a head of any organization or body to notice lapses in people who were supposed to show leadership by example, doing the opposite.
This was the bitter experience of the General Overseer, Prophet Sunday Obi during Friday’s Service when Ministers, Choristers and Ushers came to service around past 12 noon. He had always frowned at the attitudes of some Ministers over and over again.
He reminded us that Heaven is real and it is an individual race. We shall all face judgement on that faithful day. So, serving God with all your heart and energy is very crucial. God is not mocked nor can He be cajoled.
Prophet Sunday Obi was away for two weeks for the traditional marriage of one of his daughters. It was a huge success. He used the opportunity to appreciate all those that travelled with him, the choir and most importantly the engine room of the Ministry, the prayer Mountain for the prayers offered during and after the ceremony.
Also, onbehalf of the family, he appreciated the congregation for their supports in one way or the other.
As usual, he did not bother about the number of people in the hall. He believes in one thing, if it is only one person in the service, he will do what God has anointed him to do touching the lives of people.
He began to dance, dance and danced round the choir stand and the instrumentalists before the thirty minutes worship.
The moment was rewarding as the congregation worshipped God like never before. Some laid down, some knelt down while others worshipped their God in their various moods. It was tick in the spiritual.
Also, the testimonies were glorifying in the sight of God Almighty.
Usually, ARENA Echo International choir was not left out as she rendered her Special No “Mercy Prevails”. There was a resounding applause from the congregation in appreciation. The ever ready “compact” team has never failed at any point in time. It was indeed a moment of reflection – mercy prevails.
Apostle Ubong Thompson had earlier represented the Intercessory prayer points as led by the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures.
He prayed according to the following Bible verses, Psa. 102:13, 5:12/Esther.6:3/Dan.1:20 to back up his prayers. It was spiritual and igniting. The church was charged spiritually ready to match power with power during the service.
Ubong prayed against anyone standing as an obstacle, to go down, Father put me as a burden in the heart of our destiny helpers, Father encompass me with your favour, takeaway sleep from my destiny helpers for them to remember me and Oh Lord bless me with your favour in Jesus Name Amen.
The general Overseer Prophet Sunday Obi had asked Christians to pray fervently because things have gone bad in Nigeria. The devil is seeking for blood to suck this December. He prayed for the repose of the souls of corp members who lost their lives while on their way to the orientation camp. He also regretted the increase in insecurity around the country, warning that it might lead to another civil war.
He cited the life imprisonment handed over to Nnamdi Kanu and recent happening in the Eastern part of the country, saying “this country for now is not safe”.
Prophet Obi called for continuous prayer because the devil is not resting either.
At this juncture, as usual of him, with humility, he introduced the youngest Minister of God, Rev. Mrs. Kingdom Lambe who is the guest speaker to present her message with the Theme: “Walking in Favour”- Ps 102:13
She began by appreciating God for the opportunity He had given to us to survive the pending hardship in the country.
According to her, “24 hours to your new season may not look like it.
One more bathe to turn Naaman to become free of leprosy may not look like it,
One more night for Joseph to become a prime minister, he was still looking like a prisoner”.
She declared that “those here present, this will be your last night in that realm of stagnation, sickness , captivity – Gen 39:4.
“When you’re valuable both God and the devil will need you. You need to be prepared to enjoy favour, God is just with his favour and only gives to those that are deserving”.
“Favour is not scares, it is your character that makes it difficult.
Favour is real, favour doesn’t mean people must like you but that they must answer what they have been sent to do for you”.
“You may know the doctrine that God blessed people but you haven’t experienced that dimension yet. You may have the word but not an example, it takes power to be a witness”, she added”.
She cited example, saying “If you see a tiger that is caught in a trap and it’s bleeding so hard, you are compassionate, you want to help the tiger and if you dont help in five minutes, it will bleed to death,
You will rather let the tiger die even if it says you are not compassionate. It is not about your compassion, it is the character of the tiger”.
She recalled that “God used Elijah to impact in Elisha, if Elijah disliked Elijah and didn’t impact in him, God will not boycott Elijah. What this means is, dont just find favour in the sight of God but in the sight of men”.
“Not everyone has Joseph’s compassion. Not everyone will forgive you when God blesses them, therefore, be careful how you treat people when they are in their lowest ebb”.
You must have it at the back of your mind that “not everybody that will be useful to you will be carrying a bible. Not everyone God will use to bless you are believers, he said in his word that we shall eat the riches of the gentiles”.
“When God connects you to Great people, he will not maintain the relationship for you. It is your responsibility to maintain such relationships. Investing in relationships should be a two way thing, she added”.
She said “the higher you ascend the more you must refuse to fly alone, no matter how powerful you are, if you do it alone, you will be taken out. Acts 12 when James was captured. Herod stretched forth is hand to pick James but he couldn’t because he didn’t have the backing from the church. James was beheaded, Herod proceeded in capturing Peter but Peter had the backing of the church as intercessors”.
“The church prayed and God had to send an Angel to rescue him
If the devil decides to capture Peter again to kill him, the best tactics he will use is to sow a seed of offense. Let the church stop praying for him, let him too have issues with the church, then capture him, he is without defense. Offense is the way the devil breaks your covering, she noted”.
Favour she says “is a help”.
Psalm 102:13 says: “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; the time to favor her has come, the appointed time. This chapter expresses hope and confidence in God’s mercy and timing.
It acknowledges that “God is sovereign and He controls time and circumstances. God’s mercy is certain and He will show mercy and favor to His people”.
Timing is crucial God’s appointed time for favor and restoration will come.
Trust God’s timing and sovereignty. Hope in His mercy and favor. Pray for God’s intervention and restoration.
Earlier, God’s own general Prophet Sunday Obi had asked the congregation how prepared are they to receive favour?. There are many favours from God. Abraham, Esther, Joseph, Moses and Mordicah were good examples of people God favored.
God’s hands were upon the Prophet as he conducted the ministration with ease. Many were sorted out and deliverance carried out in their lives – Amen!
On this instance, he heard from God to release favours to his people and he began to release favour in our finances, marriage, career, business and spiritual understanding. As many that were released, the people received with appreciation and thanksgiving.
He prayed for those seeking for marriage during the service. They filed round the Pulpit as they danced towards their favour – Amen!…
