A former governorship candidate in Cross River State and Former National Vice Chairman of (DFDF) South South, Mr. James Ebri, has called on politicians across the country to emulate the quality leadership offered by His Excellency, Dr.Peter Obi during his eight years in office as governor of Anambra State.
He made the call in a statement issued to newsmen in Calabar to congratulate His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi on his 65th birthday celebration.
According to him, “it is surprising that after all these years as governor, it is difficult to point to any form of corrupt practices against him during his tenure as Governor”.
Since leaving office, he has forfeited pension and other rightful entitlement which his former colleagues have continued to receive. He has also continued to live a simple and prudent life, despite being a man with immense wealth which he acquired through his business acumen and hard work.
Therefore, he said, “I am in no doubt that Nigeria will receive great transformation should he become the President of this country, our country, whose citizens are crying for good leadership especially at this time where Nigerians are being embarrassed and disgraced out of other countries.
Ebri said, “I believe that a Nigeria with Peter Obi as President will be able to harness the human and material resources of the country to ensure that the best hands will be used to run our vital economic sector, and we will not continue to leave our best hands in the country to find better opportunities outside.
He used the opportunity to pray that “the good Lord will continue to protect him from the arrows of those who are not interested in ensuring that our country becomes a better place to live”.
Said he “I particularly believe that Peter Obi’s government through its policy of production to consumption will improve the living standard of our people which had diminished drastically over the years.
“We look forward to 2027 with hope that His Excellency, Dr Peter Obi will win convincingly and lead us to a new Nigeria which the youth and the people of the country have been longing for, Ebri stated”.
