Their encounter with Jesus resulted to Divine Healing – Amen!

By: Phil Adams/Vitalis Ugoh Calabar

“Isaiah 53:4-5:
“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed”.

Obviously, there is nothing anyone can do on this earth without God our Creator. He knows the beginning and the end.

He sacrificed His Only Begotten Son – Jesus Christ for our sake. Today, the world is turning deaf ears to His Commandments or His Word. All this is vanity upon vanity. He came that we may have life in abundance. Healing is the children’s bread.

In today’s service, we are being reminded that Jesus Christ has paid a price for all our sins. That we are saved from all forms of affliction.

The Creator who made the human body can also mend, fix, or regenerate it in response to faith and prayer.

This was exactly what happened during the service. He healed those who had faith as well as those who prayed fervently.

God intervened in their matter with His supernatural power and healed them. God still heals today – Amen!

Many that had faith during the service instantly encountered Jesus Christ and were divinely healed in different dimensions.

The service proper started with Intercessory prayer points anchored by Evang Blessing Asim on the theme “Engaging Divine Healing”. She appreciated and thanked God for the gift of life, good health, sound mind, deliverance and sustenance according to – Psalm 100:1-5, Oh Lord God have mercy upon us and heal us from every affliction – Psalm 51:1, Heavenly Father please build my faith and help my unbelieve – Hebrew 11:6, Oh Lord God, I do not want to leave your presence without your transformation – Mark 5:29-30, Heavenly Father, heal every infirmity or disease in my life – Isaiah 53:5 and thank you Father for prayers answered in Jesus Name – Amen.

The General Overseer Prophet Sunday Enu Obi, in his usual cheerful manner appreciate His Master Jesus by dancing round the choir stand and his Altar in thanksgiving.

Thereafter, was the thirty minutes worship. This was rewarding and pleasing to God.

Many testified to the glory of God. It can only be God as all glory and thanksgiving returned to Him. The choir was exceptionally superb with her presentation during the service.

Before the guest speaker was called up, Prophet Obi remarked that Divine Healing is directly by God and not by the medical doctor nor by himself, hence the question “How prepared are you for your healing?” He prayed ‘Lord, let your word permeate my marrow, hear my cry and do something new in my life.’

Cheerful as ever, Prophet Obi whose desire is to continue to raise Ministers to work for God, humbly ushered the woman of virtue, Min. Fustina Ogben to the alter to present the Word to the glory of God.

The theme is “ENGAGING DIVINE HEALING” Main Text
Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16; Mark 5:25-34

Minister Ogben had earlier raised praises to appreciate God.

According to her, “Divine healing” is God’s gracious intervention in the healing and restoration of a person. Believers can actively engage God’s healing through faith, prayer, the Word of God, Obedience, and dependence on Christ.

Min. Fustina Ogben delivering the Word

The Bible reveals God as a healer.
Exodus 15:26: “I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Healing is not something strange or foreign to Christianity, she recalled.
Jesus’ earthly ministry was characterized by preaching, teaching and healing – Matthew 4:23.

“Divine healing therefore demonstrates, God’s compassion, God’s power and God’s mercy.
However, we should understand that healing ultimately belongs to God. Faith is not a way of controlling God or forcing Him to act. We approach Him in confidence, humility and trust.”

She said, Divine healing is God’s intervention – Psalm 103:2–3, Divine healing is connected with God’s compassion – Matthew 14:14, Divine healing is demonstrated through Jesus – Acts 10:38 and Divine healing can involve different means.
God may heal immediately, gradually, through prayer, laying on of hands, anointing with oil and faith.

She said that we engage Divine healing because God is our healer
Exodus 15:26, because Jesus healed people – Matthew 8:16-17, because Jesus commissioned His disciples to minister healing
Luke 9:1-2 etc.

Ogben listed the following Bible verses to buttress her message Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25,
Psalm 30:2, Psalm 103:2-3,Luke 17:11-19 amongst others.

We can engage Divine healing when we come to Jesus –
Matthew 11:28, hear the Word –
Romans 10:17, Psalm 107:20 and believe God – Mark 9:23, pray James 5:14–15, Call upon His Name – Acts 3:6, Act in faith, receive prayer with humility –
James 5:14 and confess and turn away from sin – James 5:16, forgive – Mark 11:25 and give thanks – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

She concluded by saying “Divine healing is not primarily about chasing miracles. It is about encountering the Healer.
The woman with the issue of blood encountered Jesus.
Bartimaeus encountered Jesus.
The lame man encountered the power of Jesus’ name.
The ten lepers encountered the mercy of Jesus.
And today, we can still come to Christ in faith and prayer – Jeremiah 17:14.

It was a powerful message indeed. The entire house was ignited by the fire of the Holy Spirit.

The General Overseer applauded the guest speaker for her presentation. He noted that the Holy Spirit was speaking through her. He said that God is the healer. Engaging Divine Healing is your own willingness or determination to get healed. When you engage divine healing, the Spirit of God moves in your direction, and permanent healing takes place as you engage in faith.

“We must determine not to go back the same way you came. Unbelief is a major cause of delay or hindrance to getting healed e.g it took blind Bartimaeus 38 years to get healed because of unbelief”.

He recalled a woman who by faith brought her dead husband from the mortuary after 5 hour and was raised by God in ARENA. At last, Blind Bartimaeus recognised the grace on the life of Jesus, made up his mind to engage with the anointing and the identity of Jesus as the Son of David and he got his healing. Now, How many of us know Jesus indeed, how many of us believe in the efficacy of the power in His Name or believe in Him? Have we ever sown special seed to God for answers? He told of women abroad who did and got pregnant and 4 others who got healed of cancer by the finger of God by drinking blessed water by the word of the Prophet”.

“We can be age mates but not grace mate.”
How many of you have cried to Jesus for mercy like Blind Bartimaeus? In the book of Mark, the woman with the issue of blood was rejected and dejected because of her condition till Jesus healed her because she was determined. You are rejected, but when things go right for you, those who did will come back to you. Sad that some of you are identified by your challenges e.g Elder Okposo now a testimony

He said for Christians to engage divine healing, we must accept that God can heal us with faith, prayer, read the word and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
