The National Women Mobilisation Directorate of the All Progressives’ Congress Presidential Campaign Council has congratulated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her conferment with the traditional titles of Oso Di Eme 1 of Imo State and Ugoeze of Anambra State.
The Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, described the honours as a recognition of the First Lady’s contributions to national development, social interventions and the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.
Edu, in a statement, said the title, Oso Di Eme, which means “She who supports her husband,” aptly described Senator Tinubu’s role as a supportive partner to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Every man will pray for a wife Like Senator Oluremi Tinubu!
She said, “Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the Mother of the Nation, is indeed a worthy partner of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“As he is working, she is working. As the President continues to serve the nation, the First Lady has equally remained committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda through her various social intervention programmes.”
The APC women’s mobilisation directorate also congratulated the First Lady on her conferment with the Ugoeze of Anambra State title during her official visit to the state.
The title was conferred on her by HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka, in recognition of her contributions to national development, grassroots initiatives and support for the Tinubu administration.
Edu said the honours from the two South-East states demonstrated the growing recognition of the First Lady’s impact beyond political and geographical boundaries.
She noted that Senator Tinubu’s visit to Anambra was also marked by the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme, aimed at tackling child malnutrition across the South-East.
According to her, the completion of the zonal rollout of the programme across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones represents a significant milestone in the First Lady’s efforts to improve child nutrition and support vulnerable families.
At the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Senator Tinubu inaugurated the RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre and encouraged students to embrace technology responsibly while exploring emerging opportunities, including artificial intelligence.
She also flagged off the distribution of empowerment items provided by the Anambra State Government to 5,000 beneficiaries, with each beneficiary receiving a ₦100,000 financial grant.
Edu commended the governments, people and traditional institutions of Imo and Anambra states for honouring the First Lady, describing the titles as a testament to her contributions to the welfare and development of Nigerians.
She prayed for continued wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance for the Nigerian first lady as she supports the President and contributes to the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
