The Director General of Cross River State Signage and Advertisement Agency (CRISSA) Mr. Ubong Sam was among other dignitaries honoured with an award as Akwa Ibom community in the University of Calabàr Teaching Hospital (UCTH) mark her day.
The occasion was the celebration of Akwa Ibom Day as well as to mark the 39th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom state.
In response, Ubong praised the Management of UCTH and sued for unity and support to the Government of Cross River State ” in its resolve to restore the lost glory of the State and spread the Season of Sweetness to the People”.
He applauded the gesture extended to him through the award and reassured them of government’s readiness to work with all segments of community residing in the state.
Also honoured was the Chief Medical Director of (UCTH), Prof. Ikpeme A.Ikpeme.
The colorful event was chaired by Prof. Emmanuel Ekanem with many guests such as the Head of Hausa/Fulani Community, Alhaji Sariki Garuba, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Non Indigenes Affairs, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, the Representative of the House of Assembly Member for Calabar South 1, Hon. Effiong Ekarika, the Leader of Edo State Community in Cross River State, Prince Felix Oboh, Akwa Ibom Arise Group and host of other groups in attendance.
The celebration featured lots of cultural troupes displayed during the ceremony.
The occasion was marked by the cutting of the anniversary cake.
