SA To Gov Otu Receive Distinguished Service Award

The Special Adviser to the governor of Cross River on General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba has been described as an impeccable political adviser and facilitator of the “People First” agenda of Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his advisory role in the government.

The Director-General (DG), Universal  Movement for Prince Bassey Otu, Hon Mike Egba Ogar made the assertion when the Movement, in collaboration with Presidential Support Committee for Bola Tinubu presented a Distinguished Excellent Performance Award on the SA in Calabar, recently.

The group said that the award became imperative due to the successes registered by the administration in a space of nine months.

Extolling his virtues, Ogar who doubles as Programmes Director of the Presidential Committee, further described Akiba as a veteran in the political landscape on whose honour the group predicated the award on the parameters of wise counsel, hard work, loyalty and accountability.

The group maintained that the award is indirectly to the governor who the greatly admires for his transformation agenda exemplified in the return of traffic lights in the capital city of Calabar, roads construction, sanitation and maintenance of seren and green environment among others.

The Movement which fronts as foot soldiers and agents of back to South agenda expressed confidence on the SA to continue advising the governor well, wishing him successful term  in his services to the state.

Receiving the award, Barr. Akiba, dedicated it to the glory of God and his Principal Prince Bassey Otu. 

He expressed appreciation for the gesture demonstrated by the group that found him worthy of the honour.

 Akiba further described the award as a clarion call to duty and a great honour to the state government and all young people whom he said the future of the state rest on their shoulders.

The legal practitioner urged the group to continue in their unflinching support for the governor, Prince Bassey Otu who is accessible,  proactive and God fearing leader determined to take the state to an enviable level.

Akiba who remarked that leadership comes with responsibilities, also dropped the hint that for greater  success to be achieved, the administration requires the collective efforts of all the people that made Otu governor, stressing that democracy is all about the people.
